Charities We Support
About the organizations we support:
Each school year, the North Atlanta High School Foundation makes grants to support specific, high-priority needs for the four Small Learning Communities (SLCs), identified by the principal and senior faculty and staff.
North Atlanta High was recently ranked in the top 4 percent of high schools in the United States by Newsweek magazine, based on the number of students taking advanced college-level courses.
Annually, North Atlanta students are awarded more than $15 million in college scholarships. The graduating class of 2010 earned more than $23 million in college scholarships.
North Atlanta is the only high school in the Southeast that offers four years of Arabic language instruction, and is the only high school in Georgia that offers four years of Chinese language instruction.
North Atlanta was the first high school in Georgia to offer the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) program, and was recently recognized for its accomplishments by the International Baccalaureate’s Board of Governors.
Both Ashley and Shannon Logsdon are graduates of NAHS!
Beauty Becomes You™ Foundation (BBYF) is a nonprofit aesthetic health initiative that embraces a holistic approach to addressing senior hygiene needs.
Often seniors have skin, hair and nail concerns which are easily compromised through denial of their presence and can be exacerbated by medical conditions and lack of proper care. Beauty Becomes You Foundation offers a variety of basic hygiene programs to the senior community that will ensure their health and well being.
Pearls are the Life Symbol for BBYF. Read below to find out why:
Wisdom—An old Chinese proverb says, Crisis Equals Opportunity.
Born out of crisis, the pearl is a natural product of an oyster’s body defense mechanism and best reflects this belief. At first, a threat, at last, a gift from nature: when an irritant enters inside an oyster or mollusk then the process of natural coating begins with layer upon layer of nacre inside the oyster. Pearls grow inside their mother oysters with a shimmering iridescence, luster and soft inner glow that is unlike any other gem on the earth.
Just as the pearl evolves into a thing of beauty and resilience out of survival- so too do our own personal trials and triumphs lead us to developing even greater vigor that one could not have known otherwise. We too evolve over time, unveiling our inner strengths and true beauty as we live our lives to the fullest.
Like the shimmering iridescence, luster and soft inner glow of the natural pearl our own reflections on life transcend time and age. Just as each unique pearl evolves from a grain of sand; over time we find our own evolving personal and lasting qualities to be strong, lustrous, classic, smooth, serene, ageless, and eternal. We are the likeness of a pearl.
Genuine pearls from life, all women have classic, lustrous tales reflective of their ageless, feminine strengths which could only evolve from living life fully. Just as the pearl is round in form, our own philosophies demonstrate how our lives are circles which when complete can stand alone or with others and maintain their uniqueness.
The pearl is the life symbol of the Beauty Becomes You™ Foundation.
