I wanted to share the quote above because I think it’s a great representation of both fashion and jewelry in today’s world.

As many of you would agree, fashion has come a long way but sometimes there are just classic looks that will NEVER go out of style. I think the perfect example of this would be pearls.

A brief history and summary on pearls is: The patent was granted in 1916 for this to become a selling item and it’s broken down into two categories.

Natural pearls are formed by nature, more or less by chance.

Cultured pearls are human creations formed by inserting a tissue graft from a donor oyster

If you have seen The Great Gatsy (which was a-maz-ing), you would have noticed all the pearl jewelry! Daisy is obviously fiction, but she was created to represent grace, style, and elegance. Pearls are SUCH a good way to show off the classy side of you!

I have LOTS of exciting and upcoming news for you all.

First, Bill Hallman now carries dolma! You can get your dolma fix at the Buckhead, Virginia-Highlands, orthe  Little 5 location.

Second, we are in the process of discontinuing a few dolma pieces, which means we’re slashing prices to make room for the new collection!

I wanted to send my blog readers an exclusive sneak peak at some of our new items.

In addition to the pieces above, we are introducing another charm to the Charm Collection… a pearl charm! This piece will be a great addition to the chain necklaces with charms as well as worn alone on a chain!

Chains will now be available in a variety of lengths! 12″, 16″, 18″, 24″, and 36″

Don’t forget, Thursdays are now Trivia Day! Every Thursday, dolma Facebook will post a trivia question and the FIRST person to response with the correct answer will win 20% of a dolma bracelet (yeah..that’s awesome).

You and your friends will have a great time! Trunk Shows typically last a few hours and are always casual and fun. There’s no pressure. You and your friends can swing by and trained employees will help you all find the perfect pieces that flatter their features and lifestyle.

These events are a guaranteed good time with beautiful dolma pieces and great conversations!

Each guest will have the chance to try on all the accessories they please, finding everything from perfect everyday styles, bold statement pieces and even great gifts.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and Mothers Day! We’re receiving SUCH good responses from the Mothers Day gifts this year and hope you’ll send pictures my way!  Todays post is a little different, but very important! I wanted to take the time and talk about a charity very close to dolma called Camp ScientiFille.

Camp ScientiFille is a national camp for selected professors and female students, designed to promote the Girls in Science initiative.

The participants of Camp ScientiFille, 30 female students and 10 Togolese counterparts, will spend the week-long training discussing the challenges for girls in sciences, engaging in experimentation, practicing creative teaching methods, setting goals, and learning how best to initiate new programs, culminating in the group of participants creating an individualized plan for bringing Girls in Science to their respective villages

Raised funds will cover the costs of a three-day training of trainers as well as a five-day camp. This includes material for the sessions, transport, and food/lodging for participants. It will also provide a resource kit for all the participants, consisting of a Girls in Science manual and various pieces of scientific equipment.

I want to kick off this weeks blog with a special focus on a certain someone! You’re probably wondering who I’m talking about..

Introducing… Cassandra Whipple! Some of you may know her for her classic style but if you don’t, she’s dolma’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. I wanted to make sure all my followers get the inside scope of this fellow dolma diva, so I spent some time getting to know her and her style.

What is your favorite piece of dolma jewelry (I know..hard question. They’re all great!)

My favorite dolma piece is the Uptown in black necklace with the cross charm  The more charms the better! (See necklace below)

Why did you decide to turn your passion for fashion into a career?

I just love the freedom that allows people to be who they want to be. I like people taking something and making it their own.

Who would you say is the most influential person in the fashion industry?

My most influential fashion icon would be Tory Burch. She developed a brand within a record 5 years.  I envy her ability to appeal to all client types at once with a line. As well as maintain a small warm boutique feel in each store.

As a dolma diva, how do you spend your free time?

I enjoy spending my time on the beach with my loved one and family.

I’ve noticed you have a furry friend around you quite a bit, who is that little cutie?

My pug, Rocky!
